humidifier advice?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a very groovy vintage guild starfire. I want it to be as happy and healthy as possible.
though it does get very snowy in western NY, the air is really really dry. i don't want anything less than ideal for my baby...
there's a few different humidifiers available, but the oasis case humidifier seems to jump out at me. any thoughts? what do you guys use? any horror stories of leakage?

I just use the cheap, clay-filled ones like these:

I bought a $10 hygrometer/thermometer at the hardware store to keep an eye on the in-the-case humidity. It stayed right around 45%, IIRC. Soak 'em in water once a month.
Maybe this year I'll buy a real room humidifier too.

No leakage, they're not really wet. The clay soaks up all the water.
I don't fasten them down because all I use my hard cases for is storing the basses. They come out of the cases and go into gig bags for transporting. You could easily leave one in the cord/strap compartment of a hardshell though.
