Irene has got New York City right in her sights. She's gonna clobber us by Sunday morning.
Fortunately for me, I live in a fourth-floor apartment, on some of the highest ground in Manhattan. Practically none of our neighborhood is in
any of the official hurricane evacuation zones. So my gear is safe.
But they're going to shut down the subways for at least two days. We could very well lose power as well. And with the torrential rains and raging winds, I expect we may lose some trees as well (yes, we have trees - I'm right across the street from Fort Tryon Park).
It should be quite the show...
