Hurricane Irene Coming. Higher Ground for Equipment

Looks like the whole eastern seaboard is in line for some nasty weather. I just brought by gear up from my basement studio.

Just a reminder to everyone here. Be careful and be safe.

Irene has got New York City right in her sights. She's gonna clobber us by Sunday morning.

Fortunately for me, I live in a fourth-floor apartment, on some of the highest ground in Manhattan. Practically none of our neighborhood is in any of the official hurricane evacuation zones. So my gear is safe.

But they're going to shut down the subways for at least two days. We could very well lose power as well. And with the torrential rains and raging winds, I expect we may lose some trees as well (yes, we have trees - I'm right across the street from Fort Tryon Park).

It should be quite the show...

My main concern in Philly is flooding, since we've already had something like 10-15" of rain in the last week or so. I figure that my best bet to ward off the storm is stand on my roof for the next 48 Hrs and play the intro to Higher Ground non-stop
