Hypothetical ( What if? )

Sign in to disble this ad
OK I got a Hypothetical what if question for you folks.
OK say you are playing at a bar one night or a live gig and a television promoter comes up to you during your 20 minute intermission. and says Hey would you want to do a little kids show with the main theme on a band? we would buy you any gear and pay you $10K usd each show you do, and set you up with a mobile studio in back of the main studio but you would have to wear purple theoretical make up and a yellow too too for the airing.

Anways who would and who wouldnt it?

I would have to say I would'nt

I would, but i dont think i'd want to make it a full time thing. That is alot of money though a couple K per show - enough to buy more basses and gear, but then again would you buy new gear just to use it for a kid's show.

It all depends on the hours

I know what you mean. The reason I asked this question because I was flipping through the channels one morning and I caught this cool bassline going on and it was a black bass but I have no clue to what it was, anyways during the bass solo the dude was wearing a pink too too and his whole body was painted purple so I turned it to to something else nasty eh?

Don't see why not?

Until my friends are flipping through channels, think the same thing you did...and realize it was me. Then I'd go hide, or pay them to keep their mouths shut

Cept then that would get over youtube and myspace within 5 minutes, and that doesnt get pretty from there.

But yeah, I'd do it.

10K a gig?
10 gigs a year for $100,000
People work 300 days a year for much less, and suffer more humiliation.

Purple Tutu?!?!
That's what stage names are for!

I'd take it in an instant.

I guess I would too, since you put it that way.

I'd do it for less...naked, even. In the end, I'd hope that anyone who cared would listen to what I was playing regardless.

I would do it in a New York minute!

Purple makeup and a yellow tutu? Dude, my current job is FAR more demeaning and I work for a large aerospace firm. I work for far less money, too.

My perspective is that my job doesn't define who I am and the children's show job would be exactly that: a job. I don't take myself seriously enough to worry if I look like an idiot or not. Keep this in mind: for every hundred or so people that think you're ridiculous for dressing and playing like that, there'll be one person who'll think you're a genius!
