I have been having heart palputations and I have to waer a heart monitor for 24 hours and I cant play the bass. I cant be around magnets of any kind or the readings will come back false.I cant take a shower eithere because of the electrodes all over my chest. i cannot go one day without playing the bass and this day has been horrible. I tried watching a bass dvd but that didnt work and I am going to take a shower and then play the bass all day tomorrow when this thing comes off.

2 things....

First: I had one 3 different times when I was 17 -19 each time in the summer. I have a pretty hairy chest that needed to be shaved in spots to get the thingies to stick.... so be glad you are not a hairy guy.

Second: I know I played a gig at least once while wearing one... I needed to wear it while living a normal life doing all the normal stuff I do.

(I have a Murmur that is only present while my heart rate is at it's most relaxed but not when sleeping or active.)

I feel for you! Not exactly but in another way.I'm not supposed to be playin bass right now,I''ve got to fix my wrist first but I just can't help playing...

If your heart can handle Jaco,Cliff and Miller, you'll be fine I suppose(and hope).

Hope it's not your heart. I had what I thought were plapitations too and went throuh that whole "halter monitor" bit. Turns out it was an intermittent spasm of the esophagus that just happened to be taking place about heart high in my chest. I gave up a few things--most notably coffee--and it went away. Good luck.
