I went to the audiologist to get my hearing checked out....
after having them thoroughly cleaned, I can hear every little bug, every clock in the house, my hair rubbing against my ears, even my shirt makes crinkly noises |

Do you consider this a positive experience for you, or not? I was thinking of doing the same, but not if the result is going to be unpleasant.

I can hardly maintain normal conversations with people, their speaking voice is too loud for me!
.....you know, good question...I have a hard time dealing with light switches being clicked on...and I've only had this "super hearing" for about 30 minutes....
I might even consider permanently wearing drummer headphones to cut down on the wrist-watch noises, underneath my bed.
It's up to you, but the difference is levels, is STAGGERING.
Remember how everyone says that Acoustic Bass Guitars don't have enough volume?
.....
...get a load of this.....
....
I can hear EVERY SINGLE FRET....
there's these strange fret noises, i've never even knew existed before |

and forget about slap-playing, its so loud, I can't even play it
and mm....I went to "use the restroom".....
the whole process, turning on the light, doing my business, flushing, turning off the light, it gave me a huge headache
in an attempt to cut down on the chaos, I tried putting my DJ Style headphones, but they aren't doing any good...
I'm starting to wonder, if there really can be too much of a good thing
I'm turning the computer off, it's too loud |

Special solution that they wouldn't tell me what was in it, prepared right there, warmed out, squirted into my ears, drained.
...if you want a tone revolution, make friends with the head of the Audiology department at your local hospital
I mean, everyone's hearing is different, but I can hear every crinkle that my shirt makes...hear my skin being rubbed, in a fidelity that's almost super-hero like...
the downside is, I have Vic Firth headphones on my ears because every-day sounds that I never noticed, now pound into my head....
I was I walking outside, and I had to avoid every dry leaf on the sidewalk |

If your ear wax isn't too hard and compacted, that's all they need. Pressure does the rest. I've had it done many times.
However, if you have any pain in your ears, and/or they suspect you have an infection, they won't use this method. The pressure from the water "could" perforate your ear drum in it's weakened state. Also, the moisture left behind creates an enviromnent where infections can flourish. That's when things get fun......
The next step is the diluted hydrogen peroxide in the ear. I'm not sure if it's technically an acid, but I don't think so. It certainly doesn't hurt. It bubbles as the oxygen is released, in the process dissolving and softening your ear wax and any gunk left being by infections. It sounds like a shaken coke bottle is inside your ear. In medium to Mild cases, it ends there. But if your problem is more severe............
They secure your head to the table so you can't move it. Then they use a tiny suction device to physically remove the gunk. It's not painful or uncomfortable, but the device is thin and pointy, and it's often right on your ear drum so any sudden movements could cause it to puncture your ear drum. Strapping your head to the table prevents this.
If your gunk was the result of an infection, chances are you'll need several of these treatments before you're cured. As long as the infection is alive, the gunk will keep coming back. I had three of these hydrogen peroxide/suction treatments about a year and a half ago after a nasty infection. I'd gladly do it again if the need arose. The only part that hurt was the doctor's bill!
