| | | | That's ridiculous. But actually, the drums can REALLY help. The guitar and bass lines are not good indicators of the song at all though lol. When I was working at our local pool this summer, a kid came up to me during swim lessons, and told me he was good at boxing because of Wii Sports. Bleh.... |

Plus, I was taken to every concert that our local high school would perform to hear jazz and classical music. It forever shaped how I'd view music. I think that probably plays part in kids not understanding that the guitar is not played with 5 plastic buttons. |

The fact is, and always has been, that people in general don't care about music. Its audio wallpaper to them. If anything, I think the Guitar Hero games have actually helped revive an interest in classic rock (if that interest had ever really gone away).
It must be great to have enough years under your belt to start complaining about "the kids today." I can't wait. |

It must be great to have enough years under your belt to start complaining about "the kids today." I can't wait. | I think Josh Homme and John Paul Jones said it best when they said that music is going through kind of a carazy business phase right now, and that it's happened before. Not having been alive for other generations, I can't really say that my generation is completely different, because I really don't know at all. It just seems to me that music these days isn't really looked upon highly. I mean, most of the music that people seem to listen to is created by computers. But again, since I've only been alive for a measly 16 years, I don't really know too much. |

That was cool, you really had to sing it right to get a good score. It was quite fun, and good practice. I am sure the guitar/bass parts are almost totally useless as far as really learning the music goes, except for understanding the rhythm of the songs.
