I played the bass outside my home!!
On Wed. and Thurs they do karaoke at a local club. Now I have been before on Thurs. and part of the band that plays on the weekends, play along with the karaoke music. Tonight this was the first time I went on Wed. And it was like, on the dance floor, the bass player at the club set up the karaoke equipment. The bass player plays along on his guitar instead of his bass, but his bass is there on stage. I sat at a table with one of his friends, and was talking about I might be ready to play. He calls the bass player over and tells him. so he hooks his bass up, comes to my table and puts it on me, and I am like "gulp"
He puts on a song that I know. I stand up and play. I messed up a little but there wasn't a zillion people in the place, so I laughed it off. Later I did another song, and when the place close I let loose.
My friend (bass player) came to the table and said to his friend (who I was sitting next to) that I didn't realize "how good I was". I told my friend that I screwed up, but he said, he didn't really notice.
That was one step up and I am wired to the max. I want to do it again!

Congrats! |

I would also suggest posting your question in the basses forum with your own thread. Asking off-topic questions in the someone else's thread is not the most efficient way to gain the knowledge that you seek. |

In some ways by you saying it wasn't all that could be an insult to the person giving you the compliment.

Wally | actually I said I screwed up but told him I laughed about it too..that was said before he said his compliment. It was late when I typed the thread and I was still buzzed and on that "high" of playing...
