It's lost all its appeal to me. And I can't stand playing the lousy bass anymore. Guitar either.

I can, but only to a certain point, then they drop off my "logical scope" into uncharted territory. This WILL pass.. you will embrace the 'groove' and everything that goes along with it again.. just give 'it' whatever it is some time to work itself out. |

Just take some time off and come back to it. It took almost a year once for me to get back to it but I'm glad I did. Don't sell your gear either as the odds are you will come back. Hang in there man. |

Taking a breather might be a good idea for you, but as Kelly Lee said, don't go selling off your stuff. Six months down the line you may be very thankful for keeping it.

well anyways, i just wanted to say that for me, i started getting into just intonation when i was in a funk, and it got me more excited about music than i had ever been before. i mean, truly understanding how music works on a physical level makes everything so much more meaningful.
not that it has much to do with bass. stick to bass. its tasty.

Seriously, jomahu's idea of taking up something else (at least temporarily) isn't a bad idea. I kind of did the same thing a few months ago, when I started playing piano.

Always wanted to do that in response to Atoz.

Definitely do something else totally different for a while and then come back to it. It will wait for you and love you all the more when you return! Music is very patient!
