Recieved a phone call today from a guitarist friend of mine who i have"nt seen for a few months, he"s now running a music course for ex drug and alcohol users.
Basically its for ex users who are trying to get their life back on track after falling by the wayside, so to speak,he phoned me up as every one of his clients want to learn guitar and he wanted someone who played bass to have a chat with them and show them that their is other instruments other than guitar.
I turned up at the community centre this morning and met some really nice people, some of them were actually quite good guitarists and one of them had wrote his own song, but not one of them had ever contemplated learning the bass, until now that is, i took my squier precision special and ashdown after eight amp and 3 of em could"nt believe the sound, they thought it was awesome and thats coming out of a 15w amp, so much so that they have decided to ditch the guitar and start learning bass, so i decided to donate a couple of basses to start the project off, nothing special, just some precision copys but there made up to recieve them and were trying to talk the local council into donating some money to buy a couple of cheap bass amps to keep the project going.
Cant wait till next friday till we meet again, it makes it all worthwhile when you know your helping someone less fortunate than yourself.

Awesome! I'm halfway around the world from you, but thank you for doing something so cool. If we all took the time to try and make each other's lives a little better in whatever way we could like you're doing, the world would be a whole lot groovier.
