After a year of hard, but extremely fun, work playing bass, i decided to try out for All-South Jersey HS Jazz Band, and managed to make it in, despite facing competition from other bassists all with over four years of experience. Thank you TB for supplying me with knowledge neccessary for this!

Hey, congratulations!!
It's so funny, i was just about to start a similar thread, because i knew today that i'm accepted at college in jazz bass.
It's very hard to enter - they accept around 7-10 new students per year, and it was my 2nd attempt - although they have a great reputation, espically for bass: sylvain bolduc is the main bass teacher - very reputable in montreal.
And finallly, i got in.
So we share the same feeling, lol!!!! Oh yeah!!!

My wife grew up in Cherry Hill and was first chair clarinet in the All South Jersey Wind Ensemble in high school (LONG before you were even born  ). If the competition for your spot was anything like it was for hers, that's a major accomplishment. Nice going!
