I finally decided it was time for a new electric guitar. (My old one was a bottom-of-the-line Yamaha Pacifica 012.) I had been eyeing the Fender Strat MIM HSS models, so I went in and pulled down a sienna burst with the tort PG. It played nicely and was in my price range, so I decided to get it. But when the guy set it on the counter, I noticed the neck pocket: there was a good 1/8" gap on the top side. So... I grab a white HSS with a tort PG and check its neck pocket. It looked good, and after playing it a bit, I decided to go with that one. When he rung it up, he looked at me and said, "Man, you got lucky." Apparently the price was mis-marked at $599, and should have been $789. Why? This one was the Lone Star Strat with the SD Pearly Gates H and Texas Special S's. New guitar, gig bag, and new strings for nearly $200 off. WOo HOo!
And in keeping with the rules, here it is.
EDIT: Also this one has some subtle flaming on the back of the neck. Sweet.
