Had an audition today with local singer/ songwriter
Matt Russell.
I had about 3 hours to learn a few tunes so that we weren't standing around staring at each other. The audition was pushed forward a day so I thought it prudent to make myself available just to show initiative and flexibility.
The audition went well with just some minor adjustments hear and there. We also went over a tune that I wasn't familiar with. I like doing that to gauge any sort of frustration factor. None to be had on either end.
Despite what they say about Singer/Songwriters (okay I don't know what they really say) this guy is a breeze to work for. The drummer is awesome

and we all have similar styles and gel well. I feel the spark of musical chemistry for sure!!!
I also like that Matt is down to earth and easy going. I have a feeling that there is groundwork for a good friendship. Things also seem drama free; which, after my last band I need a break from drama.
I'll be trying to swing a two gig thing and devote equal time to both. You multiple gig guys....any words of wisdom?
