I had a dream I owned a Rickenbacker Bass but I don't know why....

I never knew these basses existed until I discovered this forum a few years ago. I don't really have any interest or desire to own one.

They look cool, but besides knowing they're expensive, rare and the bassist of the group YES killed that song ROUNDABOUT using one, that's all I know about the bass.

I don't even have a desire to get one. The one in my dream looked like this and was red.

In my dream it was either christmas or my birthday and I picked it up and was jamming on it and used it to rock a few shows.

But why this bass? This is soooo random. I don't get it.

I had a dream recently that I played a Rickenbacker, and it was the most magical thing I ever played (I have never played a Rickenbacker bass, there aren't any in the stores around here).
I also had one once that a friend got me a red Stingray and the slap tone was amazing.

It's calling you!! It took me years to get one in the stable, and now that I've experienced one I'll never be without one.

It happens to the best of us. By the way red is a nice choice, mine (in my dreams) is black.

They're pretty amazing, OP. I just got my first before X-Mas. I love how it plays, I love how it sounds, I love how it looks. For what I paid for it, I'm glad I got what I got.

Maybe because you wanted to sell it for way more than anyone should ever pay for a glued neck bass.

I am a Ric fan but cannot for the life of me figure out how these basses jumped in price the way they did.

yeah I remember almost buying one a few years back (well maybe 2001) for just a little over a grand, I can't believe what they cost now - but I still want one.

I played an older 4001 model this week and loved it. Very comfortable bass.

As far as sound goes, I found after fiddling around with its controls I either loved it on some settings and totaly hated it on others.
