I have a musical idea...

I am thinking of this. I have been thinking of this too, after listening to a lot of music and whatnot. Here's my layout for my band, an extended range bass (7 or more), a 7 string guitar, drums( with a set like Mike Portnoy's), a keyboard, and maybe some wind instruments. I was thinking about, odd time singatures, harmonics, different tunings, non-functional harmony, creating more chord structures from scales, changing chord progressions ,or keys more often. I am also thinking about different technqiues used in my band. I would like to utilize slapping, two hand tapping( Kind of like playing a keyboard, but I won't do it so much to piss of the keyboard player), double thumping, and fingerstyle. My tempos, can always vary, what I have been amazed with is those Death Metal speeds. I wouldn't go past 200, though. I'm not sure, whether ,or not I'd make this more of a Fusion group, or a technical death metal group. I was just curious, to what you guys think about this. I'm a little vague, but I was thinking of this. I know I would probably be a better musician, and finding musicians for this type of group would be very difficult, but I think this might be cool. I might be called crazy ,but I think this would be cool. Of course I'd try to make my music work, and not just mush everything together and just try to be called technical ,but this idea has excited me. Anyway, just let me know what you think.

If I understand correctly you're after some serious wankery.
that band (with said equipments (they don't actually have to be that xtreme!)) could do lots of different stuff, but.. I guess it's somewhere between mathcore/wall of noise for you.

Sounds like you've figured out the answer - now you just need to work out what the question was...

You know exactly HOW you're going to play (techniques/tempos ect), but you've made no sugguestions of WHAT you're going to play.

If it has the horns in it, it'll be fusion.

If not, then it's Technical Death Metal, or Fusion.

I can't decide!
