Every so often I find my self alone at home, and i have this urge to take one of my basses, and dismantle it then reassemble it. Should I see a physiologist about this?

Hmmm...no, I recommend seeing a phlebotomist. Cheaper to bleed under controlled circumstances than screw up a bass.

But I've never messed up any of my basses doing this, and its usually the one I use for experiments anyways.

I started doing the same and i love it, learn repraying then you can earn money, i started doing it with a couple of old basses and i got reasonable at it, decent enough for people to bring guitars to my house and ask me to respray them and i"ve never had a complaint yet.

Wayull, y'all didn't SAY that at first......

Then I recommend you see a mixologist. Become adequately served, then initiate disassembly.

Yeah before I had a legitimate job and LONG before I met my girlfriend, I used to be in Instrument and Amp repairs. And not just guitars but I ended up doing a lot of work for local schools orchestras and marching bands.
So its probably just residual instinct.
