I haven't bought new gear in months...

I haven't bought new gear in a few months. I've got my trio of Jazz basses, my Marcus Miller that's going on 2 years with me (the longest I've ever kept a bass, just beats out my Stingray from way back) and my MIM Jazz that I got at Sam Ash on a trade in for an old GK cabinet, and my MIM fretless that I got cheap off eBay. I haven't needed another bass. I bought a Kramer Stryker because it was one of my favorite looking basses, I didn't have a P and it was white, but that was a while ago.

I haven't bought new effects, cabinets, or anything in over a month. Haven't spent a penny on guitars, strings, cables, or anything. Am I going crazy?

Nope, just poor

--------------

But if it makes anyone feel better, I'm commissioning a custom acoustic baritone guitar. But I'm awaiting that patiently.

Funny, I'm kind of in the same boat. Moved to a new city and haven't found a job or paying gigs yet. Aside from strings I probably haven't spent any money on music in at least 4 months. Since picking up a couple of beautiful Pedulla Raptures this last year I feel like I'm pretty set in the bass dept., at least until I start playing out a lot. Wouldn't mind a nice P-Bass (or 3) or a powerful compact combo but I'll probably sell some of what I've got now to finance them.

Nah, that's not bad. The longest I went was measured in years.

But that was pre-internet. I'm telling you this place is bad.

Oh, I am. But I'm saving up for some good stuff right now.

Now that I mention it, I almost bought a Sad MS4 today

I haven't made a major gear purchase in four years. But I'm planning two right now. I'm saving money for a Lakland 55-02d. At the current rate I'll have enough in two months. After that I am planning a fretless fiver from Wilser.

And I am still trying to make a decent home studio. But those components just appear when they want to. I still need a better keyboard/controller. I want an 88-key weighted controller. I need a better power amp that doesn't put out too much electrical noise. And a good mixer. I'm wanting a Mackie 1640 Onyx, so I can record straight into my computer.

But I might just get a Firepod and skip a lot of that.

I think my last somewhat-major purchase was about a year ago when I bought my Alesis Ion synth.
