Well, he had two guitars, both were great, but he wanted somthing different and more reliable. He is a tele guy, but loves the sound of humbuckers, so we had been looking at a USA G&L as an upgrade.

Well, we went to the Local music store yesterday where they were having an insane moving sell and he bought one of the now discontinued Charvel San Dimas teles. It's polar white with black hardware. I am really excited for him! He didn't have all of the cash, so I spotted him about 250 and I cannot wait for band practice tomorrow night.

What do you think of this?

Heh, I'ma have to save a copy of your pic for the guy I play guitar with. Four things he loves most in guitars are teles, humbuckers, maple boards and floyds!

What exactly qualifies that as a tele? Doesn't it at LEAST have to have the body shape?

because it's a singlecut? i think it looks like a cross between a fat strat and a les paul myself.

Thats what I was thinking, last thing I'd call that is a tele.

Still can't get over how awesome that Charvel is, if I wasn't totally not skilled with a guitar, I'd pick one up for myself, but I already have one guitar I can't play very well......

hey dark,

if he wanted to mod it and put a stacked pot in the switches position for a tone pot/blend pot (replacing the three way switch) like i have on my bass, would that be possible?

Not exactly.

You can't stack a blend pot and a regular pot, as a blend is already stacked.

What he could do, is have a stacked volume and tone, and a seperate blend.

Same effect, really.

Oh, cool. Well, thats certaintly possible, its rare to have a blend on a guitar too, so that could be really cool.

It sounds quite good, plays very well and it really light. As for how it is a tele? I have always thought it looked like Godin`s version of a tele, with less of a lower horn so you can access the 24th fret easier. Just looks like a tele to me.
