I know that this is a long shot, but any Saz players here?

I'm very interested in getting a Saz now, and I'm curious if any of you guys know of any killer Saz players? DO any of you play saz? any tips or good sites that will help me or a book?

Thanks.

I've just been enticed by the sound of the saz. I'm getting my first one from Lark in the Morning I think, unless any of you bought one and wanna sell it for a reasonable price

So yeah...I'm getting into middle eastern music a lot more and I'd love to be introduced to more players and styles.

And yes, I'm saying Saz, not Sax. (for the few people who are curious.)

Solomon/Sulyman Feldthouse, who used to be in Kaleidoscope with David Lindley and Chris Darrow, played saz (also oud) on many of their numbers. That was more of a folk-rock context, but they had an innovative and very distinctive sound. Feldthouse is an interesting character, and he's still playing. Here's a link: http://www.lianrecords.com/pgs/davidf.html. - And another for his current activities with Sirocco: http://www.sirocco-music.com/.

I knew a teacher who exclusively teached Saz, very cool instrument, I'd love to get my hands on one someday.
