First let me ask question I. Where can I get a bass like this in this video? now for question II. is he playing a modified phaxain mode? and what song is that? Link down below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6vdZ_b0l_U |

The solo did nothing for me. |

Not to bash KISS - I listened to them at one point, too - but they are not great musicians. They put on a great show, but not much substance. And that's OK, too. |

I think that is only slightly better than Michael Anthony's typical bass solo. I've seen MANY shows with WAY more entertaining bass solos than that (IMO). |

I beg to differ. Sure, they might not be a wanktastic progressive band that does technically amazing stuff like a Dreamtheater.
But, if you put aside all the goofy costumes and stage stuff they actually wrote loads of very awesome tunes. They were never really one of my fav's, and never listented to them much. But, a friend of mine brought over some of their albums and I listented. I was won over.
I was suprised to find that they had loads of substance.
If you mean great musician = wanking all over the instrument, then no. To me great musician = good song writing and good playing. They have that. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
