As I've said in threads before - I'm a busy person. I work over 40 hours/week supporting my family on a single income. I Have a 16 month old daughter and spending time and watching her grow and learn is the most satisfying thing I've ever done. I have a loving wife who understands my need to play music.
Once or twice/week I get to escape my regular day-to-day and play music. I've played guitar. I've played drums. For the last 10 years I've been a bass player.
There is something satisfying about hitting certain chords on a guitar. There is something that hits you in the gut when you're drumming and you're completely locked in with a song. But with playing bass you get the best of both worlds. It's a very percussive instrument. When you're locked in it feels incredible. It's also a guitar in a sense, so when you hit that perfect note or series of notes and the tone just reverberates through your body it's incredible. Bass is the driver of the band. It's what people feel when they listen to music and it is what makes people dance and feel great. It is the most emotional component of any band.
I just wanted to say I love playing bass and that I love that it makes the rest of my life better.
