For those of you who don't know him, he's considered one of the best saxophonists in the world. he can even play two saxes at once! He played with Bela Fleck and Dave Matthews Band along with Victor Wooten. well anyway, he played a show at a local high school, so our jazz band director asked if he could come play with us. He came and he was awesomeley good. He could play super high and he was really good. I didn't think to get his autograph, though. anyways, i guess that makes me pretty lucky.

I saw the Flecktones last December in Philly and stuck around to talk to the band after the show. They were all gracious and very down to earth and Jeff was especially nice to my friend's girlfriend. He took several pictures with her and signed the band's CD as well as one his own that she bought there.

On the other hand, I mentioned something about the Kimmel Center (where they played that night) to Futureman and that *really* got him chatting. He seemed to really be into the architecture of the places they've played and he got into a big comparison of the Kimmel Center to the old Academy of Music. It was actually a pretty cool conversation.

Victor Wooten's older brother (Rudy) was doing that around here back in the '70s.

How about Rashaan Roland Kirk?
Three(3) reed instruments at once...
