does anyone know a cheap (for cheap I mean 30-40 $) tuner that works with a 5-string bass? I also need it to be seen on a dark stage...

I have a KORG C30, with an unlit LCD needle display, and a flat/OK/sharp 3-LED display. It tunes-in my low B a lot faster than my Sabine 9000 tuner/metronome, but both get there in the end.

My cheap $17 Korg tracks my low "B" and hi "C" instantly.

I saw that tuner, but I thought that the 3-led display didn't allow precise tuning... am I wrong?

Yes. Did you actually try tuning with it or just look at it and jump to an assumption? Try it out, you'll probably like it!

I have a Korg CA-20 that cost about $10.00. It tracks low B no sweat.
