I need info on Rick James' early (70s) tours!

Okay who was rick james' opening act before prince? Im told it was a magician named al(bert?) rine (not sure how to spell it but thats how it is pronounced). Is this true? And supposedly rick was the best man at al's wedding. Shortly after the wedding (the night of) the wife left al for rick james.

Al Rine (Magic Al) was replaced by prince on the following tour.

This is just some stuff i have been told but i cant find anything that early in james' career and cant find anything one the magician.

So i was hoping you guys know!
