hey guys, i am experiencing buzzing from my strings on the 6th fret with E and A strings. I dont understand why only on the 6th. My G string was buzzing open, but i fixed that by increasing the height of the bridge. I tried that with the E and A strings, but the problem did not improve.

have any suggestions?

im going to be getting new strings tomorrow, because i already broke my E string, after having my bass for a day so hopefully new strings will help, and i will ask someone in the store for help on the above problem also

G string was buzzing open? Wow.

Ok, it might be something easy, but without seeing the bass, the best thing I can tell you to do is take it to get a real set up and ask the guy what he did, then post back and we can explain what those things are and why they are done etc.

But, more likely, the 6th fret is low or the 7th is high or something. You really shouldn't fix that by yourself. =/

So take it to get a set up and see what they say.

yeah, well i was looking through the little like manual that came with it, and it said that the buzzing could be from the string being too low/close to the fretboard, so make the bridge taller to fix this. And that cleared up the problem with the G and the other strings buzzing open

i never tried to do anything to the fretboard

i busted that string due to applying too much tension through the tuning key, because i was being stupid, trying to see if i could make that a B, haha it worked and then " pop" and everything went loose

oh yeah, mainly what i meant to ask in that last post was

do they do that a Guitar Center? (ie set it up) Because i will be there tomorrow to get strings and some other misc. items

how long does that take? How much will it cost me? (rough estimates if you have any)

if not i can take it too a store in town, that should be able to do it.
