Mic holders, what the mic clips in is separate. Depends on what mic you have.

Call them.
If their picture or wording said something else they will fix it.

Make them fix it, or fire them.

Those are both straight stands. Since you're surprised they didn't come with a boom, I think you want a boom stand. Most mic stands don't come with a mic holder, those usually come with the mic.

You can purchase a boom arm to go on the top of the stand, but I'm not sure the round base stand would fair too well. You can also buy universal mic holders that work with most mics.

I suggest you return those and get a boom with a tri-pod stand. It'll be more stable. Check out some high rated Hecules stands here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/micro...atId=site1LIFA Note: After the website loads, wait a few seconds for Hercules to come up.

What nobody has mentioned is that microphones almost always come with their own clips, BECAUSE they are fitted to the specific microphone. I own about 10 mics, and every different model has a different size clip.

You can buy a boom too and add it on. Or, just get a boom stand.

You can usually get a boom at any music store. Guitar Center and Musician's Friend are the same difference, so they might help you if you have one in the area.

Since we're on the subject of mic stands, does anyone like the On-Stage stands? I think they're crap, you gotta really wrench down on the boom part, and they tip over easily. It seems to be what everyone in my area uses tho, even my old drum teacher, and the college he worked for paid for them.

On stage stands generally are crap. I like Atlas or Keonig & Meyer stands. Also, make sure you actually loosen the clutch before adjusting. Don't just grab & yank (stop snickering, perverts.) You'll just strip the clutch and your boom stand will look like it needs a little blue pill.

I have On Stage stands that I've used for the better part of 10 years and I've never had any problems with them. Are they the best available? No, not at all. But are the affordable stands when you need a whole lot of them that are relatively durable? Heck yeah. I will continue to use them as I've yet to have one fail me.

I had one On Stage stand, I think it was the round base stand in the OP. It broke before I even got it into my house from the car when I just bought it. I dropped it from about 2 ft while taking it out of my car and the base snapped right off from the upright. Not too "road worthy"

I didn't mention why, but I mentioned it.

Ive found most mic clips that come included with mics to be of inferior quality. Instead, Ive bought a universal mic clip for about $7. This thing is made of flexible rubber and can accomodate ANY mic. It fits on most stands as well, aside from something like a Carvin stand, which is made to only accept their brand of mic clip, or at least one threaded similarly.
