Uncreative metalriffs including lots of unnecessary time signatures with lots of random scale-runs and a powermetal singer.
Technical music without a vision.

| | | | I disagree, some progressive metal rules. Like, for example, the last four albums by Death, which were highly progressive.
But Dream Theater sucks. Bad.

I also believe that all genres of music kick ass equally. |

But there are a whole flood of bands coming out nowadays that could be classified as Progressive Metal (though, not in the Tool/Dream Theater sense). So, while I would normally not be one to defend Progressive-anything, I will this time.
I nominate, instead, Math Rock &/or Post-rock...which are the spiritual decendents to 70's Prog rock because both genre's take themselves way too seriously.

Closely followed by hip-hop, boy bands, slutty chicks and all that other crap. |

FYI, I generally hate threads dedicated to tearing down any particular performer, writer, gear, genre, etc....Let's try to be positive, there's enough negativity in the world already.
