I play RATM, TOOL, she sings pretty

I play bass, and my girl sings pretty stuff like Whitney houston, evenessence, Jewel ect. The problem we have is that we cant find a happy medium of music to play together. I play stuff like Rage against the machine, and I dont have a problem playing pretty songs, but the bass lines are so boring... any suggestions on some songs where we could meet in the middle?

pop music has some great, grooving basslines, man. If she can handle it, maybe try out some Bjork. Some of the more up-tempo Fiona Apple songs are pretty cool. There might be some Garbage y'all would both dig. If you wanna challenge yourself, there's old school Joni Mitchell, with Jaco on bass... Then if y'all get into R&B or soul, there's some incredible basslines that will really stretch your chops and your groove.

+1 on the R&B and Soul. Pop on some old Michael Jackson tunes too. Lots of fun stuff to be found if you look hard enough.
