I saw a bass solo on TV

It was on the PBS Austin City Limits with the Amos Lee band. It wasn't like Stu or Victor, but the camera was focused on the bass player for an extended period of time.

OK, I'll shut up now...

If you watch Studio Jams on BETJ, you'll usually see a couple bass solos every show.

Just a finger-picking solo with some slides in it. Nothing too fancy.

But, it was a bass solo.

Keep watching PBS -- I was flipping channels the other day and saw a Ramsey Lewis special with Marcus playing bass. Some siiiick electric playing, and a very nice solo spot.

I saw an upright bass solo on tv not too long ago. Really cool. It's cool when a solo appear out of nothing and take you by surprise like that . It was a norwegian bassist called Frode Berg, think his a little known.

Looks like it will air in my locale in mid-June. I'll check it out for sure.
