I saw The Commodores tonight

My wife and another couple talked me into going to a local casino to check out The Commodores. Outside of Lionel Ritchie, and Brick House, I did not know much about them I was surprised to see Lionel Ritchie not there.

It was a really good show for some guys who have been rocking for almost 30 years. They really interacted with the audience. I think the venue was lame, which did not help the acoustics. They still sounded pretty good. I caught them lip synching a couple times, and I saw that the bass player had his rig turned completely off for a couple songs. He acted like he was playing though.

A cool thing about the show was a really sweet solo by the bass player at about the midway point in the show. The show ended with the main guys going off the stage while the music to Brick House continued. The bass player took center stage and laid down this really sweet bass solo for about two minutes. He was playing a sunburst P.

Overall, I was impressed. I also found a new band to like.

Does anyone know who the bass player is? I thought they said his name was Tyrone. He was a young looking black guy.

Lionel Ritchie hasn't been with the Commodores for at least 20 years. So yes, you are 30 years behind.

Munji-
...you're killin' me.

5150-
Go back & visit The Commodores' earliest albums...maybe up to Natural High. Anything after that, IMO, = suck-age.
What you're hearing now is not The Commodores...just one man's opinion.

Thanks for the tip in that album. I'm going to go to Fred Meyers tonight and look for it. The songs that Lionel Ritchie sang sound way different with the new guy. I was sad.
