They are a goofy looking bunch, but all i can say that is the most talent ive seen in one room ever. The easiest way for me to describe it would be like a rollercoaster it was fast paced, and exciting, and when it was all over i wanted to go again. If you ever get the chance to see these guys live DO IT!!!! You wont regret it. I took pictures until the batteries in my camera died so when I get some new batteries Ill post them.

Awesome. Bela is supposedly a distant cousin of mine, but I don't know how much truth there is to it. On the other hand, we have gotten free tickets to flecktones shows before, so maybe it is true.

If they let you bring one in, definitely.

I'm going to see them tomorrow night in St. Louis. I'm looking forward to it. They put on a heck of a show. And I like Victor in this context more than in his own band, which I've also seen.

I have seen them once a few months ago here, and I just looked, and they are coming again in march! Woot, more Flecktones goodness!

i love watching the musicianship on stage, absolutely amazing. Also, hearing Victor Wooten for the first time shortly after picking up the bass brought me to where I am today, so I will go see that man on stage any day.

How is Victor's playing in the Flecktones compared with his solo stuff , is he more about fingerstyle groovin or what?

Yes. From what I've seen (I've seen the Flecktones and also Victor, with his brothers a few years ago), Victor's solo thing is more geared toward funk than his playing with Flecktones. A lot more slap, a lot more soloing. With his band, he's obviously the front man. People have come to see him light it up, which kind of requires that his bass be featured. To me, that gets old. I'm a bass player, but I like bass within the context of the song; so I prefer his supportive role in the Flecktones.

If you are new to the Flecktonian galaxy, the single best way to catch up is - Live Art.

You will Not be disappointed.

When I saw them, he was playing the drumitar with one hand, and using his feet/other hand to play a real kit!! Such a mad scientist of music.
