My GC moment of the year happened around July. I was inquiring about a '62 re-issue Telecaster Custom. The 3-tone single coil model with the binding & rosewood board. Anyhow me and the GC guy are chattin' it up, all the while he's eyein' some youngin' playing a Black Les Paul Custom (one of those $3999.00 ones) through a little crate (or some such) and the kid's got the amp cranked to 'fork-in disposal' distortion levels. Suddenly he stops, unplugs the guitar and brings it back the GC guy.

GC Guy: "How'd ya like the guitar?"
Youngin': "I don't like the tone of this one".

Yeeaah.

I seem to hear Higher Ground way too much in GC. Is that like something you learn in a Bass for Dummies book?

I was talking to the accessories guy... He was joking with me about getting me a job there, and my only job would be to wait until someone started playing one of those "everyone can play it" tunes, and then go up and play it correctly so they knock it off.

I absolutely cannot stand GC. I went in there the other day around 11am. I think there were maybe two other customers in the store. There were probably seven or eight staff members walking around. I wanted to talk with someone, and not ONE person walked up and asked if I needed assistance. I waited around for around ten minutes, and tried to get the attention of the employees, and then left. Who knows... Maybe they thought I worked there.

The kids playing all of the riffs at insane volume levels is also another reason not to go in there. I will never buy an instrument from them again. I'll buy accessories, because they have good deals on those, but their instruments are often over-priced--especially on their eBay auctions. And they ALL suffer from B.G.S.

Woops... I went off-topic there... Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

I know what you mean.
I got there once at 10:20 am.
I was only one in store.
Walk around for 15 min. 8-floor people just look at me.
I went into back room, talked to person in charge.
Told him I had $4000.00 on me, and wanted to buy a bass.
He said talk to floor people,Isaid I have waited 15 min.
He said what do you want me to do?
I said drop dead, Have never been back.

I was in GC trying out a Big Muff pedal, and I was just playing any riffs I could think off, including some half ass soloing. And then the power went out. Twice. The first thing I yelled out...

"If you don't like my playing, you could have just asked me to leave..."

I don't really know why I go. Some of my friends LOVE the place, and think it's hilarious to just mess with the gear and play really loud. It's so annoying.

I usually go once every one or two weeks. To see if theres anything new (there usually isnt)

Last time I went though, they had the Jack Bruce Warwick HIGH on the wall and a Neck Through Thumb 5, which was being sold as I came in. (I wanted to play it ). I talked to my friend who works there about how people waste their money on the crappy GK backline combo's. Talk about when I'll be purchasing the beautiful Yamaha TRB 1005 which is STILL (after 3 months) hanging on the wall.

And thats what usually happens when I go there.

WAIT

I almost fogot how every time I go there there are always a group of kids that go "Holy sh*t guys, Look! A 6 string bass!!!"
