I'm spoiled. I want room to solo under the guitarist/singer's solo and to have more room to manuver. Plus, all three members will achieve equal praise. This is just my opinion though.

Or a 5 ninjas with a horn section with an awesome lead samurai sword player.
Or... maybe I just need my medication adjusted...

of them only sing. We may add keys - dunno yet.
What I really want is to play in a huge R&B band with a horn
section and three girl backup singers in slinky dresses. |

I would also love to play in a band with a great horn section. Ive only played with guitar players as I live in a small town and Im still in high school. When I leave town for college I hope to play with more keyboard players and hope to maybe find that Afro beat band . |

Peter Gabriel is a good example of this, most of his songs have 20 different things going on at once, but it's all so minimal.
That said, I'm in a trio right now. It's interesting, I'm certainly busying up my playing, which is fun. But if another member was added, I might prefer it. It is forcing me into new stuff though.

Yeah, Jimi was on fire, but Billy Cox was also holding the groove down while making use of all of that free space! It was only three people but the sound was huge!
Right now, I'm in a "band" with:
A drummer, two keyboard player, a percussionist, a lead singer, five back up singers. Yes the sound is full and beautiful but I desire more space for expression and letting a little bit of "me" come out.
My dream is to play with just a guitar playing singer and a drummer. I never even played with a guitar player besides just jamming for an hour or two on occasions.
