I wonder . . .

I wonder if there are some correlations all bassist have. Surely there has to be some similarities, right? For instance I was never a guy to hog the spotlight. I have always been modest and shy about my hobbies. However I am the life of the party and love to make people laugh. Then again who doesn’t? When I was working out a few years back I really focused on biceps. Why biceps I still have no idea why. I think it was because everyone who lifts is all about bench press. I have always hated gold and loved silver. I am trying to illustrate that I have always been attracted to things that are less common. Here are some more examples; most of the drummers I have ever encountered have always been very calm and collective people. I hope you can understand what I am trying to say. Please chime in!

Well to my knowledge, we all play bass. But that could be debated, I suppose.

I find it's the opposite of what you describe:
All the drummers I know are 'party man' while the bassists I know are calm, collective... And a bit stubborn
We have the similarity in biceps thing tho, also in prefer silver than gold, and about not hog the spotlight, shy and modest

I think bassists are kind of stoic

How many people were in the collective? (He asked helpfully)

I'm not sure how much correlation there is between all of us, but I know that I've always been pegged by musicians and non-musicians alike as a bass player as soon as they hear I play music. Like, no hesitation: "I bet you play bass."

When I ask these folks why bass is the first thing that comes to mind regarding me and music, they answer, "You just seem like someone who'd play bass."
