but that God there is TB. there is nothing better than being able to chat, compare, argue, converse, laugh, learn, opinionate, and network with bassist from all walks of life, and parts of the world. I love this place.

i just think this place is awesome. I can't talk to my wife about active pre's or NT construction, or what kind of strings i should put on my EUB. not because she dosen't want to hear it but just the fact that it is another language to her. I can tell you that she will quickly let me know if she sees a bass that she thinks looks good. she likes green basses (she would love MM's lakland) and she loves my '88 Thumb NT. TalkBass gives us all a place to ask questions and learn from the worlds greatest bassists, US!!!

+1 TB has kept me from getting fired. During those times when there was nothing to do, I was having trouble staying awake. But since I discovered TB, I can always find something interesting!

Seriously though, glad you like TB - it IS great. If you ever need to be humbled about how smart you think you are, just come here. As a guitarist, I had NO idea. Total ignorance in thinking the bass player was the guy that just went "boom boom boom" playing an F# when the note is supposed to be F.
