Seen people try it before. Looks kinda cool I guess. Victor Wooten does it best though, I must say..

Phlipper 03-02-2013 05:13 PM

LMAO! Idiot.

Of course ... it probably deflected the audience's attention from the horrible vocals fer a minute er three. :D

File that under, "Hey Vern, Watch this!"

stepswork4me 03-02-2013 05:53 PM

Not nearly as dumb as Novoselic.

Except that Novoselic did it on purpose, millions of punks adored him for it and unlike this guy, he could definitely afford to replace the bass. One of the coolest things ever was watching Dave kick that bass drum off the riser. lol

stepswork4me 03-02-2013 08:43 PM

He let it hit him in the head on purpose?

Maybe. Is it that surprising? I watched Marilyn Manson drag a broken beer bottle across his chest on stage, in a very small venue in STL, with maybe 2000 people watching.

fraublugher 03-05-2013 07:00 AM

It was that or actually drink a pabst.

Relevant to my point how?

4dog 03-08-2013 11:09 PM

How can anyone think that another someone would purposely catch a bass thrown very high in the air with their face? Thats the relevance. And a 2000 capaxity hall aint dinky, just sayin , not trollin.

One name, four syllables:

GG. ALLIN.

Not the greatest musician (ppl will hate on me over it but I still think "Brutality and Bloodshed for All" was a good album. Especially the song "Highest Power ".) but he was nuts on stage. Probably for even smaller crowds than that Manson show mentioned.

Woulda thought with all the poo flying around they would have booked him in bigger venues , so the crowd could move waaayy back.

Nah, he was going for the "spin trick". I played with a guy who used to do it quite often and it does look rather cool if you get it right. Of course he had the brains to use straplocks. LOL

That bass hits him violently and krist doesn't seem like an entertainer willing to sacrifice his body for his fans. I highly doubt he intended to give himself a concussion with his bass. You need to remember Manson is a shock artist and Nirvana was a grunge band.
