idiot sales people

So, I had to make a trip to the mall this morning, so I decided to take my bass along to try out some amps. I get to the store, wall to wall, mostly inexpensive equipment. EVERYTHING, that can be turned on or played, has a "please ask for assistance" sign on it. So, I found a combo I wanted to try out, so I have to ask for a cord. I pull out my bass, and the guy comes over with a cord, plugs into the amp, hands me the other end, I plug in, he turns the amp on. No, sound. So I check to make sure my bass volume is up, it is. He starts messing around with the amp, then he turns around, and starts twisting knobs on my bass, which pisses me off. I felt like saying "please ask for assistance" haha. He goes to get another cord, comes back, plugs in with the amp on, still no sound. Then realizes he is plugged into the headphones jack. Where do these stores get these people? I bring my $3k bass into your store, but if I want to play your $219 Squier, I have to ask for assistance. Then you've got the audacity to touch my instrument without asking. Whatever! I will never step foot in that store again.

Good. You should never have stepped into that store in the first place...

MM, you're right. I'm always looking for cool deals. I'm just going to stick with the guy I bought my bass from, he's the best.

Similar stuff happens at Gibson Showcases. I was playing one of their(I believe) Tobias basses while sitting on the floor. I do this for about 5 minutes when a sales person sees me, runs over, and snatches the bass out of my hand and says I can`t play it unless I`m 18. I show him my ID and motion to him to hand it back. He then replied, "oh..well... you can`t play it unless a sales man is with you and you`re sitting on a stool."

I to this day can`t understand what must of been going on it that guys head or how they expect to make sales in those places. Also, you must play an instrument while sitting in a stool? Why? So that it has a higher distance to get dropped from?

...idiots....
