I am looking for a combo (200-300watt) and am curious what fellow talkbasser's opinions are on what manufacturer owns this segment of the market.

Rather than this; If combo amps were cars....
What brand would be the Lexus? The Ford? The Rolls Royce?
You might have gotten some answers by now. Just sayin'
For my money the two best 1x15" combos in that category are the 200w GK MB115 and the tc electronic 250w BG250. Depending on which tone and features you prefer either would be a great choice.
