If someone disrespected your gear...

What methods of vengeance would you go for? Let's say someone truly disrespected your gear in a way that you can't just call them a jerk and move on. If you were to get back at them somehow, how would you do it?

Semi-hypothetical. The guitarist in my band just punched someone square in the face for placing a certain body part on his guitar. Long story, details probably wouldn't be appreciated. But it got me thinking about what I'd do if someone really disrespected my gear and figured I'd ask all you lovely TBers.

How did this certain body part end up on the guitar? This has the makings of a Zappa tune..

Well it goes like this. Having practice and a friend calls up and asks if he can come chill and listen to music and some other people would join him. We thought having a small audience would be cool. So they come over, four guys. The guy who called and his brother, then there was someone who was a semi-close friend then someone he knew. We kinda knew the other guy, but at more of an aquaintance level. The band, our friend who called and his brother all go to the kitchen once the pizza arrived. The other two were messing around on my friend's acoustics in the practice room so they stayed back. The guitarist forgot to turn his amp off, as did I so we go back to the room. We hear giggling and we open the door and we see the semi-close friend placing a certain bag-like body part on the guitarist's guitar, thinking it would be funny. It ends with the kid getting punched in the face and both of them literally thrown out of the house. Weird practice...

I'm not sure, I'm a fairly monolithic individual. I could probably get an apology and/or money to fix my gear out of them without too much work on my end.

Well, if you knock the guy out you can count on him never putting his _____ on your equipment again.

If someone placed their bait and tackle on your your most prized guitar, you would stab them in the face? Sounds fair to me.

I usually am critical of physical violence, but the guy needed a general punch in face more for his stupidity than anything else.

I can usually keep my cool, but when I lash out, it's usually like this. Hell, I almost punched the guy and it wasn't even my guitar... oh sweet Jesus, he could've done it to mine too. Anyone know a good disinfectant?

Yeah that would have gotten the same reaction from me, and I'm generally a non-violent person in real life.

You know what? Don't fuc@%&$ care about it. I heard one time from a great and fame musician/artist say this "..I don't fuc@%&$ care about what the other people think of..." that's a great truth, because if there are 100 idiots that say bull%$£& you can kill all of them. Unfortunately it's a human side to talk bad about people just for free but if you concern too much on what people say just because they are stupid, I think you're the one that have something to loose.
Cheers. Enrico

Hey there, Rico, I think you should read the thread. He's not talking about somebody badmouthing his gear.

BTW, nice chops.

Is it wrong of me to admit that i did once put a special body part of mine on my guitards instrument!
I am actually a little proud of it!

The guys is one of my best friend though, known him since i was 5 years old and had been menacing him of doing it for a while for whatever stoned reason! He did get me back, which was fair enough! (think he got all the knobs of my amp the bastard!)
I do think that if someone i barely knew did that i would punch them in the face !

So we're really being asked what we would do if someone put their scrotum on our gear.

And people are actually dignifying that question with a direct response.

Unbelievable.

I think the initial punch in the face, and throwing them out of the house, would be a sufficient punishment... now if he was doing something else with his junk on my gear... Then perhaps it would get a little face staby!
