If there is 2 bands would put out there...

So every time I try to talk about less known bands, people are like "whatever, ok"

So here is a thread where you post 2 lesser known bands that you think other people would really like but nobody ever listens to you. Before you post, look up someone else's 2 bands and see if you like them... and then post yours.

My 2 bands are:

Blues Traveler (you have to turn the bass up, but they have an amazing bassist... who mostly plays fretless)

and

The Black Keys (Just a great band IMO)

I love both of the bands you listed. Good stuff.

Here are 2 of my faves that I rarely hear about

Steel Pulse (Reggae - awesome old school band. Right up there with the best of them)

Strapping Young Lad (Metal - Devin Townsend, in addition to having (past tense) an AMAZING skullet, is one of the best musicians and writers ever to grace the genre, IMO)

And in that vein, I got that hoodie on their last tour with brand new, and while waiting in line the group of kinds in front of me were talking about how they had never heard of glassjaw and didn't know what they were going to sound like. Sad sad day for me.

For me, two bands I think people should know but many don't, Portugal. the Man, and The Dear Hunter. They have released 5 and 3 albums, respectively, and certainly have some pretty interesting arrangements that could have mass appeal.

Harmonium and Papa Groove.

Even if Harmonium has disbanded 30 years ago, the more it keeps spreading, the better it is. It should be a reference to anyone writing "softer" progressive music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ-wR-8oQyc - Stick around 'till the Flugelhorn solo.
