I would pick Jimmy Chamberlain.. Almost perfect hits. Nothing out of place. Siamese Dream is a great example. I know, I know, there's a ton of other killer skin-beaters out there, but just something about the way he rocked with the early Pumpkins stuff..
Who would you pick? Not necessarily someone you would "learn" from or something along that line.. who would you like to spend a few hours jamming with?

He has the distinction of being the only drummer in Steely Dan's history to record every track on an album. I particularly love his playing with Rudder.

My other two choices would be Neil Peart (assuming I could even remember how to play the bass in his presence) or my other choice, Gary Husband, who is both an excellent jazz drummer but also a jazz pianist, and me being a jazz bassist, I'm sure I could play.

I think we would lock well together. Never played bass with a drummer that approaches the drums
the way I do.
Outside of that , I'd love to jam with - and meet - Steve Gadd.
He is.
The.
Man.
