I'm better than???

Sign in to disble this ad
In reading some recent post, I've noticed some of the typical TB bashing of player X.

Some of it is veiled "What makes you so great?" type stuff to onboard pro's

to Celebrity X is in a band and he sucks as a bassist....

to I've heard bassist X is great, but I don't get it

So, here is your chance

I'm better than ________., and if you really have a pair upload a link and prove it.

Me..... I suck

On a similar note:

I'm better than my neighbour's cat.

Great idea. Let's hear what the bashers have to offer.

Me? I'm pretty much just a meat and potatoes kinda player. Not much more than that.

I'm better than anyone who would accept a gig with Miley Cyrus or any of the "industry manufactured" teen popstars because I have standards.

Then you'll sure be better than I am.
I'd take any of these gigs in a heartbeat as I find it quite difficult to pay the rent sometimes. :-)

I would not even try to "get it". It is merely childish name calling. Everyone knows ( or should do ) that no matter how good you are (or think you are), there will always be someone better than you. So what's the point ?

+1

I agree. Myself, I'm better than some, not as good as others. I've been a full-time bass player since 2007, so for me to compare myself to anybody who's been playing a lot longer than me is foolish. I have fun, I'm improving all the time, and I do the best I can. And that's all I can ask for.
