As far as Reggae influencing Disco-
...the sheer repetition of what the rhythm section does is along the same thinking. Both are geared for dance...too much deviation/improv confoozes the dancers; ya wanna keep the dance floor packed.
Reggae influencing Rap-
There was something called "versioning"...essentially, 'rapping' new lyrics over an existing track; the track was usually a 'hit' & was known by the dancers(I assume). So, the rhythm section is, again, the constant; the words are new & different.
