Mandolin? Ukele? Dulcimer? Autoharp?

30 dollars is to low to expect something electric and of half ass quality.

build something with a couple of guitar strings and a plank of wood, and then use a bow on it or something. Other than that, think cheap wind instruments like a tin whistle, or a recorder.

Slam your head against a wall.

It's not really musical. I just think you should injure yourself.

I don't know for $30 man... Just like, get a badass music program (Fruity Loops) or whatever you can use and make some badass music on your computer.

Heres what you need: A piece of wood, the high E string from an electric guitar, 2 push pins

1. Put the pins in the wood about 2 inches apart.
2.Tie the guitar string around the pins REALLY tight.
3. You now have a 1 string guitar thingy that has notes that are tooo high pitched that they cant be heard by human ears.

Sorry its not electrical but u can make it electrical by micing it and hopefully the mic will pick it up.

Rock out with ur new instrument.

With the rest of the money, go buy a set of bass strings or something like that.

I did this with a bass string and practice finger picking in class but instead of a piece of wood i used a book.

Im really sorry to tell you this but there are VERY few if any instruments you are going to find in this kinda price range. i mean even my clarinet was $1000+ cad when your talking 30-50 your looking for a toy.

yeah. well, I'd like to spend no more than $50 (including shipping) for an American made Fender precision bass. The older, the better -- as long as it still looks and plays like the day it left the factory.

...but, I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen, either.
