Add getting run over by a car, breaking all of your bones, getting robbed of all of your money, and have the homeless spit on you. Then you'd be able to make blues records until your 90.

I know what you mean. I haven't touched my bass in three months. I use my iAMP for home stereo purposes. Each day I get a little closer to selling it all.

I'm also in a rut. I can't seem to expand my musical abilities on the piano or bass. I think I'm too stuck on modal-based music or something. I might pickup playing guitar or something. Maybe I'll see things in a different light.

The only truly punk action left in the world is to purposely listen to mainstream pop music and support those pop stars by wearing their clothes without displaying any disgust or sarcasm.

Be punk by doing something 'unpunk?' What a paradox...

Maybe tell your mom that Sum41 is in fact 98 Degrees.

Or kick the cat.

Very punk (not very emo)

Thats exactly how I became punk, actually.

Covering blink182 tunes and hardcore punk shows.

Actually, I found picking up guitar last summer to help out a lot. I made more progress on bass in those 2 months than at any previous point in my playing.

Kinda in one now. Just soaking up a lot of records. I think Mingus is dragging me out of this rut, though...tonight and tomorrow I'm gonna learn Goodbye Pork Pie Hat (bassline, then the head on both electric an upright) and I hope to transcribe the bass figure to "Better Get Hit" when I get time in the next couple days.

PS: I just had a thought. How damn cool would it be to do Goodbye Pork Pie Hat on upright with a sax player for my college audition(s)? Man. That'd be hot.

I'm in a rut too..have been for years really. I find it hard to get motivated to sit down and learn something new. Even learning new songs gets frustrating after a few minutes of it.

But funny how I still crave new gear as if that would help....

Write a long about your secret love for TB's moderator community. It could be called "Orgy of the Damned".
