I'm too dialed in. Help me...

I've talked about this before, but I'm really starting to have a problem.

I'm way too dialed in to my own bass ('93 Ken Smith Burner 5-string), such that I can't even play another bass. It's now a problem, because I'm away from home a couple nights a week, and I was thinking of getting a bass to practice on when I'm away. I want to keep it in the sub $500 range.

I've visited guitar shops and tried out many basses, but they all suck. What should I do ?

Save and search for another Burner.

Or, a lesser bass that doesn't play that nice could be an asset: you'll have to struggle more to play it, so when you go back to the Burner, you are ripping.

What's the string spacing on the Burner, 18 or 17 mm?
