Sign in to disble this ad
I know there are lots of threads on gig bags, I've read most them.
The question I have for those Incase owners, is this product really worth $365??!!
I know this is a great product and all, but SHEESH. I was going to buy one, and I was ready (albeit reluctantly) to commit the $299, but by the time I got through the checkout process, they had added an extra $66 for shipping and handling. Are you kidding me?
I guess there used to be retailers out there where you could get one at a slightly discounted pricing and free shipping. I can't seem to find any now.
I have tried contacting the Probag people, as they seem to have a really nice leather one for HALF that price, but get no response (both email and phone). The Mono bag that Roger Sadowsky sells seems nice, but almost the same price as the leather one from ProBag. Miko at IGIG says they are working on a double version of their bag, but it is still a few months away and I really need one now.
What do you guys think? Is it me or does $365 for an albeit really nice Gig bag seem really outrageous? |

everyone i know that has a dub case loves it, but they are all traveling musicians who's gear gets thrown around by baggage throwers. |

As allotabass metioned, it's a very comfortable bag to carry, but it is heavy. My max for this bag personally would be about $250. I've had mine for over 5 years and still use it regulary |

I'd go for a BodyGlove for a 1/3 of the price before paying that kinda money for a gig bag. Dunno if they are still available but it's the best gigbag I've ever owned. http://www.samash.com/webapp/wcs/sto...tegorySA-10001 |

Mono cases look nice, but again I only single bags. |

I had an Incase dub for a short while, but I didn't like the fact that I couldn't take the bottom bass out without also removing the top bass. Plus, I had to lay it down to open it. Maybe the new ones are made differently now, I'm not too sure about that. But it was extremely well made and gave great protection to the instruments.
I no longer use any double bags at all. My basses are much too heavy and I can't deal with the weight of a double. I do currently have a Gator double, but the handles are really uncomfortable when dragging a lot of weight ... |

James | Yes, that is the ProBag I think, which is no longer sold through Low End AFAIK. I have tried to get in contact with the ProBag people by phone and email and have gotten nowhere all day today.
If I hear from them soon, that is the one I will probably go with. |

though no info says anything about it, most bassists fit two basses, in gigbags, in a case (i once saw 3 bagged basses in a case). i don't know if it fits your needs. http://www.skbcases.com/music/produc...et=1&c=84&s=75
guitar center has them for $125 (not endorsing GC, just using it as a price reference). |

I got mine back when they were $199 + shipping. If I had to buy one today, I would have to pass, but I couldn't even afford one at $199 these days, with the economy and all.

With the backpack straps, you just hoist her on and use the back and legs to carry it. I have done a lot of backpacking in my day, so this is no big deal for me.
BUT, that price is simply outrageous. I finally got response back from ProBag. So I think I'm going to order one of those for over $170 less!
BTW, why did this thread get moved to Miscellaneous? Every other thread I have found on this subject was and still is in the Basses section. |

The only place they really fit is Miscellaneous. When I see one, I move it there. If you have seen some in Basses, that was either before they were moved, or all of the Basses Mods missed them.

Mono cases look nice, but again I only single bags. | Mono has double cases on their site. I haven't tried one yet, but a single is gonna come with my next bass. Bag looks sweet.
