Incase Slimbag vs Mono M80

Sign in to disble this ad
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but which of these is better? Which offers more protection? My Slimbag does the job well, but the Mono looks much better in my opinion. For me it all boils down to which protects better. Any help? Thanks

I believe KJung has owned them both- he'll probably chime in soon. The Monos do have great protection, although I can't compare them with a Slimbag as I haven't tried one.

I have an M-80 dual bass bag and I love the thing. Super padded, very sturdy construction, well thought out design with lots of nifty features. I love it, but I didn't pay full price and it still wasn't cheap. Then again, my Fender double gig bag lasted maybe 12-18 months at the most and was 60 bucks so if this thing lasts as long as I feel it should it's a hell of a bargain. And it's WAY more protective for the basses. But I digress, the Mono bags are stellar and well worth their price.

I have both Mono and Incase. The Incase beats the Mono in just about everything except weight.

It's not really that. Protection wise the Incase is simply a beastly bag. The Mono is about par with other soft case/gig bag types in the market except for its very limited storage. But to me this makes it more ideal for walking through crowded spaces because it's sleek and you can't over pack it. I also think it looks prettier than any other gig bag out there.
However if I were to have just one high end gig bag, I will pick the Incase.

Incase is definitely more heavy duty, and offers better protections. But is also heavier. The Mono also was underwhelming in terms of accesory pocket volume.
