Incredilble Japanese all girl jazz swing band video.

Check out this Japanese all girl swing jazz band. Incredible. The Japanese audience who are normaly pretty conservative let lose and really get into it also. The bass player is kind cute too.

That was awesome! Apparently there's a lot of rhythmically challenged people there in Japan.

I guess you are taking about the audience hand claps not always on the beat. But those young girl musicians are very talented.

How many people know just by hearing it that the song is Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing"?

Everyone would do themselves a favor be becoming more familiar with big band music. Ya GOTTA tap your foot to that one - outstanding musicianship, great solos, just a top-notch performance all around.

It's evidently a scene from a Japanese movie - anyone know of the band depicted actually played the tune?

Still, some decent lines...

"There are just two kinds of people in the world - those who swing and those who don't."

or...

"Jazz... It's cooler than I thought."

I looked them up and they actually played the tracks heard in the movie. Here is a quote from Wikipedia which Hrodbert supplied the link too:
"Many of the girls had not played these instruments before,[3] but they did play the performances in the film after training for only 5 months.[4] To prove this was not movie-magic, a tour was organized after the film with a live CD released shortly after". [5]

Wow, some only had five months training. Pretty fast learners.

Those were some pretty rhythmically challenged people in the crowd. And I never thought I'd see an Iceman in a swing band...good stuff, though...
