Does anybody know of a company that sells high-quality instrument cable by the foot? (I make up my own cables)
I used to use Beldon 8412, but the company that I bought it from stopped carrying it. The last cable I made from 8412 lasted me 10 years, no joke.

It's weird. Searching for "Belden 8412" shows no hits, but searching for "8412 cable" does.
Not down-playing Mogami or anything, just throwing an option out there....

Hopefully the OP don't need no bleedin' cable....lol.

+1000 on using Belden cable. I can top the OP, as I made a bunch up 25 years ago. With US-made Switchcraft connectors and just a little electrical tape for strain relief, they have been completely trouble-free. The low-capacitance, single-conductor 8411 cable still sounds great, and the Hypalon rubber cover wears like iron. IIRC, I paid about $50 for a 100 foot roll...
I'd love to make up some more using shrink tubing and Neutrik connectors, but unfortunately, Belden no longer makes 8411. The only drawback to that stuff, was that the high-density braided copper shield was a pain to prep. I used to carefully untangle the braid, using a straight pin...
The two-conductor 8412 seems to be the only current alternative. This is a shame, as it's thicker, and presumably stiffer. Belden doesn't publish detailed specs in their online catalogue these days, but IIRC, the capacitance was a little higher than the 8411, as well.
