Ipod Troubles.....

Sign in to disble this ad
So my Ipod is about 3 years old. A few months ago it started acting funny; I had to reset it a bunch of times, had to reload the itunes libray on it a few times, then it would do weird things and not work....long story short, after researching it on the web, I would knock it around and it would miracuosly work.....fast forward to today....just the sad face on the screen and nothing is working, no resetting, no disk mode, I even took it apart....nothing.....
the guy at the apple store says I need a new one or else it's at least $150 to fix...probably the hard drive.......
Anyone with a suggestion or a miracle cure?

Could you get it into restore mode so you could plug it in and reload the software? If not I say just buy a new one and not worry about it, they are quite cheep now if you get a classic or a nano.

Hi.

You guessed it correctly IME, the HDD is to blame. Now if anyone came up with reasonably priced iPod replacement 1,8", I'd need about 5 of them. Wouldn't really matter how big, 20Gs would be all right.

Those (when You can find 'em) go for about 100€.

Regards
Sam

Harjoitus tekee mestarin, jäljet kyllä jää aina. Hieman vähenevät kun kokemus karttuu. Paskamaisia korjattavia kaikkityynni.

Että silleen.

It's definitely the hard drive. Just sell it off to someone for cheap. For some reason there's a market for broken ipods since people fix them and resell them. It's not worth trying to fix by installing a new HD.
